Arthrosis, arthritis

Arthrosis(osteoarthritis) is a dystrophic disease of the joints associated with the slow degeneration and destruction of intraarticular cartilage. Over time, the articular ends of the bones undergo restructuring, inflaming and degenerating the periarticular tissues. The term "arthrosis" (deforming osteoarthritis) includes a group of degenerative-inflammatory joint diseases that have different origins and similar mechanisms.

Cause

Primary arthrosis associated with age and / or biomechanical changes. Secondary, occurs after injury, in the background of diabetes or thyroid disease, due to vascular disorders, etc. It contributes to damage to the joints of the legs and the flat development of arthrosis, which impairs the shock-absorbing functions of the legs. foot. The timely application of specially selected orthopedic insoles makes it possible to correct the deformation of the foot and reduce the load on the joints.

Arthritis is the most common joint disease, the incidence of which increases with age. But this disease does not only occur in the elderly, which determines its social significance.

Symptoms:

  • pain decreases during exercise, at rest;
  • restriction of movement and cracking of the joint;
  • muscle tension in the area of the joints;
  • possible intermittent appearance of swelling, gradual deformation of the joint.

Primary arthrosis - 40-50% of cases of arthrosis. The disease develops on a previously healthy joint and is not caused by damage to the joint, but by hard physical work, for example.

Secondary arthrosis - 50-60% of cases. A joint prone to arthritis was deformed before the disease, for example due to trauma.

What joints are affected by arthrosis?

Most often, arthrosis develops in the joints of the lower half of the body (hip, knee, first metatarsophalangeal). The joints of the phalanges of the fingers on the hands are most often subject to arthrosis. Osteoarthritis usually occurs first in one joint and then in the second - symmetrically with the first.

Coxarthrosis

normal joint and damaged joint

Coxarthrosis(arthrosis of the hip joint) is characterized by progressive course and impaired statodynamic function of the musculoskeletal system. It is one of the first places in degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the musculoskeletal system. The dystrophic process begins with the articular cartilage - it thins, dissociates, breaks, and loses its padding properties. Bone growths are formed as a compensatory reaction to the joint surfaces of the hip joint. In the future, sclerosis will develop and cysts will form in the articulating sections of the femoral head and acetabulum.

Gonarthrosis

healthy joint and sore joint

Gonarthrosisknee joint arthrosis) occupies a leading position in the group of arthritis of the joints of the limbs. Patients attending outpatient clinics include patients with persistent gonarthrosis, but unfortunately there are few of those who are treated in our hospitals. Inpatient treatment can have a much greater effect than outpatient therapy at work. Doctors have known this disease as a "salt deposit" in everyday life for more than 100 years.
